Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery
A Urogynecologist is a specialist in the care of women with pelvic floor disorders. These disorders include urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, emptying disorders of the bladder or bowels, pelvic or bladder pain, and overactive bladder. Urogynecologists become specialists by obtaining additional training and experience in these conditions after a four-year residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Our practice is comprised of Four Urogynecologists:
Constituting one of the largest single groups of Urogynecologists in the Mid-Atlantic area, all of the physicians of Mid-Atlantic Pelvic Associates are fellowship trained in this field. Our practice strives to provide the best comprehensive care to patients with pelvic floor disorders via non- surgical and surgical management.
However, despite the continued demands of the practice, we recognize the importance for patients to be seen quickly by our specialists and streamline the course of treatment to address our patient’s problems. We work together with the patient to build her health care team to collectively evaluate the various treatment options and determine the most appropriate plan of care that meets the patient's goals and expectations.
We have a multidisciplinary team approach and work with our Gynecologic Oncologist colleagues as well as with Colorectal surgeons provide comprehensive care from simple surgical procedures to complex reconstruction.
We personalize the care of our patients, treating the patient’s specific goals and unique problems rather than a one-size fits all approach. We offer the latest surgical technologies including Minimally Invasive Vaginal, Laparoscopic, and Robotic surgery. We also conduct research and present our findings at national sub-specialty meetings.
Our patients are supported by each and every member of our practice that works together as a team to present a warm and caring environment.
